RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2008) – Carolina Hurricanes kick off their regular season this Friday, going up against National Hockey League rival, the Florida Panthers. A TV and radio campaign produced at Trailblazer Studios will premiere this fall and run through the end of the regular hockey season with the goal of boosting Hurricanes ticket sales and TV viewership.

Red Truck Films, Serious Robots and Blazing Music+Sound – all divisions of Trailblazer Studios – teamed up with Canes Vision, the internal marketing department of the Carolina Hurricanes, to produce the campaign for the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions.

Red Truck Films’ director/DP Garye Costner was brought in to shoot a library of Hurricane’s footage for TV and Jumbotron content. Once the footage was captured, Canes Vision called on Serious Robots to execute the TV campaign, “Our Team, Our Tradition.” The spots consisted of gladiator footage of the players, (shot by Red Truck), in game highlights provided by the Hurricanes and voiceover from the players including Eric Staal, Cam Ward, Rod Brind’Amour and others.

Serious Robots provided editorial, compositing and color correction to give the campaign a fresh, bold look and tie it to the Canes’ print and web campaign. Editors were Scott Roy and Ian Krabacher with Clif Armstrong assisting. The Canes Vision creative team consisted of Pete Soto, Ben Aycock and Eric Bridenstine. Aaron Keane and Willie Elias of Blazing Music+Sound composed original music and provided sound design for the TV commercials. A total of 28 :30 TV spots have been created.
                                          
The TV campaign will be complimented with radio advertising produced by Blazing Music+Sound and agency Craig Jackson & Partners. Craig Jackson was executive creative director, writer and voiceover talent; Tomas Gardner was art director; and Eli Celli was producer.
