SERIOUS ROBOTS TAKES TOP HONORS AT 2006 TRIANGLE ADDY AWARDS

Broadcast Campaign For Purdue Wins “Best in Show ”

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 7, 2006) - Serious Robots, one of the Southeast's top commercial postproduction and animation companies, walked away with the "Best in Show" award at the 2006 Ad Club of the Triangle ADDY Awards held on Feb. 24. The ad campaign, created for Purdue Research Park, also won a Gold Award in the Broadcast Category and will now advance to the regional ADDY competition. Thirty-five area firms submitted more than 400 entries in this year's competition.

The winning campaign consists of four 30-second spots showcasing the advanced technologies that Purdue is developing in collaboration with its clients, PC Krauss, Akina, LLC and Swift. Serious Robots teamed with Purdue’s ad agency, Publicis, to create the spots. The agency’s Todd Lemmon provided creative direction and Tim Taylor produced the spots.

The project was directed by Serious Robots’ Forrest Maready, with Carol Mauriello serving as executive producer. Teague Hayes and Marc Stanyk utilized Motion Design and 3D animation for final compositing of the Purdue spots. Joe Wilson edited the spots with Avid DS HD.

The ADDYs, sanctioned by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), are awarded annually by the Ad Club of the Triangle to recognize excellence in advertising and marketing in the Triangle as judged by national experts. Winners at the local level move on to be judged at the southeast AAF Third District, and then on to national.
