Some kids grow up wanting to become doctors or astronauts. Alan, a born and bred North Carolinian, wanted to work in post-production. At Trailblazer Studios, he handles online editing, color correction and creative offline editing for TV shows, documentaries and commercials. Or as he likes to put it, he “adds the finishing polish to make projects nice and purdy.”
Working on a variety of projects such as HBO’s Private Violence, PBS’s A Chef’s Life, HGTV/DIY’s Salvage Dawgs and numerous TLC shows including Sister Wives, and Abby & Brittany, Alan gets a thrill helping passionate clients bring great projects to fruition.
Alan is passionate about Hitchcock movies. Just quiz him. He’s seen them all. Maybe someday we’ll be watching his remake of Rear Window that he plans to tap David Fincher to direct.
To decompress from a long day, Alan loves to bake pies, play drums and listen to the sweet tunes of Hall and Oates, which he thinks is the best duo ever. No contest.
His early-formed passion in film led Alan to UNC Wilmington, where he sharpened his post-production skills and earned bachelor’s degrees in Film Studies and Spanish. After a stint studying abroad in Spain, he returned to Raleigh with broadened film and production knowledge. He found a home for his post-production zeal at Trailblazer Studios, editing, color correcting and finishing TV shows, documentaries and commercials for our clients.
Alan recently completed his M.A. in Technology and Communication, Journalism at UNC Chapel Hill.
